How to Make the Best Decisions

How to Make the Best Decision for You and Your Baby in Pregnancy and Birth

Pregnancy is one of the most sacred and transformational times in a woman’s life. It’s also a time filled with information, opinions, stories, and expectations — from family, friends, professionals, social media… sometimes even strangers.

With so many voices around you, it can feel overwhelming to know what’s right.

But here’s the truth:

You already have the answer within you.

You just need the space and support to hear it.

1. Quieten the Noise

Start by turning down the external volume. That might mean unfollowing accounts that create fear, setting boundaries with well-meaning relatives, or simply creating quiet moments each day to come back to you.

You are the one growing this baby.

You are the one birthing this baby.

No one is more connected to your intuition than you.

2. Get Informed — Without Overloading

Being informed is empowering. When you understand your options, your rights, and the physiology of birth, you make choices from a place of confidence instead of fear.

This isn’t about becoming an expert in everything — it’s about being educated enough to ask the right questions and to feel safe in your decisions.

At Breathe for Birth, we believe in blending holistic tools like breathwork, energetics, and guided relaxation with evidence-based birth education.

Because knowledge + embodiment = power.

3. Ask Questions

You are allowed to ask why.

You are allowed to say no.

You are allowed to pause and take your time.

Whether it’s about a procedure, a test, or a birth suggestion — asking questions helps you stay centred in your choices. A simple phrase like:

“I would like a moment to consider my options?”

…can give you the space to drop into your intuition and respond from a place of calm.

4. Surround Yourself With the Right Support Team

Your birth team matters. Whether it’s your midwife, doctor, doula, partner, or support person — you deserve to be surrounded by people who advocate for you, believe in your power, and honour your voice.

If someone makes you feel dismissed, anxious, or unheard — it’s okay to seek out someone else. You are not too much. You are not being difficult. You are simply advocating for your birth and your baby.

5. Get Safe Within

This is the heart of Breathe for Birth.

When you learn to work with your breath, settle your nervous system, and trust your body’s wisdom, you create a deep internal sense of safety.

And from that place…

You think more clearly.

You feel more empowered.

You birth more confidently.
